Welcome to this botanical garden, where human feet have not trodden for many years. Actually, one has-or rather a pair of them have. They belong to a passionate botanist who spends all his time in the company of flowers. He does not seem interested in people, as he feels himself to be a plant rather than a member of the species homo sapiens. He may seem strange-or even scary, like anything unknown-but rest assured that he is completely harmless just like his plants are . . . unless you're a fly or a beetle, which his carnivorous plants love to eat, that is. No worries, those meat lovers might possibly snatch at your snack if you have a ham sandwich or a sausage in your bag, but that's all. Though some of the plants from this forgotten botanical garden look predatory at first sight, even spooky, they are still just plants that can never catch you. Enough talking, though! Keep your hats on as our tour of the botanical garden begins . . .

Almost every child would like to have a pet. A sweet four-legged friend. Some wish for a dog, others for a cat. It is true to say that cat care is somewhat easier than dog care. A cat is more independent and doesn't need to be taken for regular walks, and she is better at going to the toilet. We must remember, however, that a cat is a living creature in need of careful handling, and that she can cause us humans plenty of problems if she puts her a mind to it. This book discusses what caring for a cat entails and the good and bad it brings. You can be sure that the moments of joy known by the owner of Tabby or Kitty make up for any little difficulties with her. If you want to know about cats, this book is a great place to start!

Some people like museums, while others find them boring. But a museum ruled by magic and sorcery is something altogether different. If you don't believe it, open this book and things will happen. You will trigger the spell of the sacred scarab and the museum exhibits of ancient Egypt will come to life, including a cat who remembers the famous Cleopatra. The mission of this feline is to put things right, to catch the scarab and undo its curse. But it is no easy task. Together with the cat and its grey mice helpers, you will run through the museum in pursuit of the scarab. Along the way, you'll learn plenty of interesting facts about the amazing civilization of ancient Egypt, without even realizing it. You will meet Tutankhamun and the archaeologist who discovered him, and also encounter ordinary Egyptians and the objects and buildings that surrounded them in ancient times. You may be surprised how things turn out. One thing is for sure, you won't forget the new things you learn. Nor will you forget the magic - the magic of Jakub Cenkl's beautiful illustrations and of the immortal ancient civilization of Egypt.
