As part of an online supplement to the television series "Stephen Hawking's Universe," the Public Broadcasting Service (PBS) provides a biographical sketch about French chemists Marie Curie (1867-1934) and her husband Pierre Curie (1859-1906). Pierre and Marie Curie were awarded the 1903 Nobel prize for physics for work on radioactivity.
