Hockey camp teaches Nugget and his friends some important lessons about good sportsmanship. Nugget McDonald has been looking forward to his first Christmas Break Hockey Camp for months. And now that school's finally out, he's ready to spend a solid week learning from a pro - Danny Holbrook of the Vancouver Canucks! But because Mom was late signing him up, instead of working with his NHL hero, and most of his pals from the Cougars, Nugget will be training on another team. The good news: the coach is a two-time Olympic gold medalist. The bad news: Coach won her medals in women's hockey. Nugget can't believe that his team, with a female coach, could possibly beat Danny Holbrook's team in the game at the end of the week. But with Coach Katie Gunnar at the helm, Nugget and his friends are headed for a big attitude adjustment.

Everything seems to be getting back on track for JT. That is, until Coach O'Neil has a bad fall on the ice and the team is left without a coach mid-season. JT is thrilled when his dad steps in to lead the team - but his teammates have a harder time adjusting to the new coach. Suddenly practice time isn't fun anymore, they're fighting among themselves, and they're devastated when they lose a game that should have been an easy win. Seventh-grader Steven White's family has just moved - again - this time to Oregon. The upside is that there is lots of great snowboarding. But Steven dreads having to start over in yet another new school.  So he devises a scheme to instantly boost his popularity: he tells his classmates that he's  champion snowboarder Cody White's cousin and the friends will come to him. Of course it's only a matter of time before the White lie unravels, the kids shun him, and Steven finds himself facing the worst, loneliest Winter Break ever. Then he meets pro-snowboarder D-Day Davis on the slopes. D-Day is hiding out after a disastrous X-Games appearance. While Steven yearns to be a pro snowboarder, D-Day just wants to be a normal teenager again.  But Steven doesn't respect Danny's request to stay under the radar, and soon their friendship is in jeopardy. Can D-Day show Steven that all he needs to do is be himself? And can Steven help his hero get his mojo back?
